Variously derided as “The Wedding Cake” or “The Giant Typewriter,” the Monument to Victor Emanuel II—Rome’s blindingly white elephant is a commemorative pile of marble devoted to modern Italy’s first king.

Loved the rustic setting and classic Italian flavours of this Restaurant.  Our private driver recommended this as it was always a popular choice near Piazza Mignanelli and the famous Spanish Steps.  When in Roma… Alla Rampa.

Having our own driver definitely made our day trip from Civitavecchia worthwhile @sps_travel .  We got to enjoy the local action around Piazza Navona and Campo De Fiore before heading back.
